Mustard Yellow Shirt

Almost died when I spotted this gem of a shirt at Forever 21 a couple weeks ago. Had to have it. I have a strange intrigue with mustard colored clothing items, I love the color. And there's something about pairing it with grey...it just works, ya know? 

 It has been a beautiful Labor Day weekend in Washington! It hit mid 80's yesterday (which is pretty rare for September) so I felt like wearing something light and airy... but threw on this striped sweater when/if it got chilly. My weekend was pretty relaxing, hung out with the fam and made some peach butter with my mom (it's delicious and going to be a wedding favor). I'm planning on posting the whole recipe on my personal blog after the wedding. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend everyone!

Ready for Fall fashion

I live for Fall fashion so I am ready for it to be that time of year again! Boyfriend blazers scream Fall to me, but because I didn't want to fully commit to that theme I paired it with a summery dress and nude heels. I don't know about you guys, but I am ready for Summer to be over. Bring on the fall scarves, boots, and cardigans... And of course with fall comes my wedding in November! It's going to be a good season.

Okay so let me start by saying I was talked into buying this dress. I liked it when I tried it on but honestly didn't think I would wear it anywhere...and I haven't. It would look so much cuter with a pair of wedges. I personally think it's a cute dress but I'm afraid that nobody else will get it. Like maybe it looks like a costume? Does this dress look silly? If I don't wear it soon I feel as if I never will. If you guys say it's too out there then I'm probably going to trash it. Or maybe I could make something else out of it...  The fate of this dress is in your hands!

Garage Sale Goodies!

My sister and I discovered a massive garage sale a couple weekends ago and found the coolest stuff. For instance, this red wool coat ($4) and this vintage bag ($2). It's a little too warm this week to wear the coat but when fall rolls around it will be perfect! I've been wearing this bag almost everyday and have gotten several compliments on it already. I die for the vintage rose pattern.

From the same garage sale I got this cute retro apron (for when I'm a Mrs. and start cooking for my Mr!) and a pretty scarf...

I strongly advise visiting some garage sales in your area this weekend! Until next time...

Bow Blouse

I wore this to church on Sunday (my church is usually pretty casual so it's acceptable to wear denim). I loved this shirt when I saw it. Perfect for summer because it's so light and breezy! I'm kind of loving bows these days... they're pretty cute. And this wallet, let me tell you, is awesome. If you don't always want to lug around a bag then this will hold your phone, keys, cards, dollars, etc. I love it!

Denim + Lace

I love the combination of denim and lace! I needed this scalloped edge skirt the first time I saw it at the store, I originially bought it for my engagement photos back in April and I still love wearing it. It's so easy to dress it up and down too. Okay so my necklace - I'm not a huge butterfly fan, but this is probably the only way I'd wear them (nearly hidden with surrounding silver). Plus it's vintage! Another reason to love it.

Floral Raincoat

I was going garage sale-ing with my sister and it was promised to be in the 70's. Of course it started out chilly and rainy. So what do we do in Washington? Layers! I have my raincoat in the likely event that it rains, a sweater when it's cold, and a t-shirt and shorts when it gets warmer. This is my new favorite raincoat, I found it on sale at Target. It's so cute, I feel like I can wear it all year long because it combines the springy floral print with something I need to wear when it's yucky out!

Masculine + Feminine

I love to mix masculine pieces with feminine ones. Whether it's with a boyfriend blazer and heels, leather with floral, or this combination with these militaryish combat boot heels and a pretty dress. By doing this I think it provides a nice balance. And I kid you not when I say I've had that hair bow since kindergarten. I bought it to go with my school uniform and I still love to wear it!

Romper, Top, Belt, and Bag: F21 // Jellies: Fred Meyer

Let me start off by saying that I found these jellies for $3! I haven't had them since I was little and they really are the best. Now on to the romper: It was a little tough for me to buy my first one. I was scared that A) I don't have the right body for it and B) I would look like I'm wearing my neices overalls. But here's the thing - I have to be very selective with rompers. Some of them make my rear look like its a foot long and we can all agree that's not attractive. Once you find the one that fits right then you have to buy it!

Polka Dot Blazer

When I first spotted this blazer at the Fremont Flea Market I fell in love with it! But then I questioned if I could pull it off... it's a pretty loud pattern. However the fact that nobody else would have it convinced me to buy it. I still haven't worn it out in public though, I have a feeling people just wouldnt get it.

What do you guys think...Is this blazer a little too crazy for me?

Feeling Nautical

Ahoy there! Whenever I put on blue and white stripes I think nautical. I found this awesome, oversized (probably a man's) sweater at a thrift store nearby. It was a turtle neck sweater when I bought it but I wasn't feeling that... so I decided to cut it off and make it a crew neck. I paired it with bright pink shorts that I got as a hand-me-down from my sister when I was in junior high. I love the contrast between the two pieces. This outfit makes me feel a little bit like DJ Tanner but I love it nonetheless.

A Grey Sweater Day

While writing where my outfit was from, I realized that maybe I should branch out a little more when shopping. Though these aren't thrift stores, you must know that I am a clearance rack shopper, born and raised. Every item was under $20. 

Today was one of those grey sweater days; you might know what I'm talking about. It's a comfort thing for me, I don't know what else to put on so I reach for that grey sweater. I found this white belt in the bottom of my belt drawer and was thrilled! So for right now it's replacing my neon pink one. Also, you may notice my stackable rings!

Thrifted: Love Letter Shirt

I have a thing for flowy blouses. I found this one at a thrift store ten minutes from my house for $5 and it's 100% silk! I'm sure people walked by it thinking "if it weren't for the tacky 80's print maybe I'd buy this". But that's what I LOVE about this blouse. I've honestly never seen anything like it. That's the goal when shopping, Ladies. (Or at least mine). Go get yourself a crazy printed shirt and sport it!

My Summer Shorts

Let me give you guys some background on these shorts, I love them. They're recycled mom jeans and I have called them my "Summer Shorts". Basically they're my go-to when I want to throw on something comfy and effortless. I love tucking in shirts these days so they're perfect for that too. I paired it with my new fave sweater and a belt that pops and I was good to go. Don't be surprised if you see these shorts appearing in posts to come!
