Thrifted: Floral Dress

Dress: Thrifted // Shoes: Nordstrom Rack

Okay so let me start by saying I was talked into buying this dress. I liked it when I tried it on but honestly didn't think I would wear it anywhere...and I haven't. It would look so much cuter with a pair of wedges. I personally think it's a cute dress but I'm afraid that nobody else will get it. Like maybe it looks like a costume? Does this dress look silly? If I don't wear it soon I feel as if I never will. If you guys say it's too out there then I'm probably going to trash it. Or maybe I could make something else out of it...  The fate of this dress is in your hands!

Summer Skirt

Top: Gap // Skirt: Thrifted // Belt: Ross // Shoes, Earrings: Nordstrom's Rack

I can hardly believe that we are already in mid august. The Mr. and I have some solid time off in the next week or so and we are looking forward to taking advantage of some of these summer days--I plan to wear long loose skirts so that I can assume the position of criss-cross-applesauce for every moment of them. Criss-cross-applesauce reminds me of a time when I was five, and my bestfriend and I would pick berries and crush them on the cement sidewalk outside my house, then we'd pour sugar on them, and call it jam. Best part? I'm pretty sure we would gobble it up afterward over toast. Do you think I should try the same technique this year? Or Maybe I should just keep the cooking indoors and sanitary.

Coral Rose Earrings

I have only had these Coral Rose Earrings for one week, but I have managed to wear them three times already!
I am a sucker for coral anything and these provide a way for me to add a bit of it to any outfit!
I bought these at AnneMarie's Etsy shop which you can find here.

AnneMarie grew up in the SLC area and graduated from UVU in Elementary Education. She is just starting her fourth year teaching third grade (I don't know about you guys, by my third grade teacher was my all time favorite!). During her free time, she loves to hang out with her family, play tennis, read, and do just about anything outdoors. During summer breaks she found herself getting bored and needing something to do. It turns out, putting her creative mind to work was the perfect solution! She started this shop summer of 2009.She first started doing custom party decorations and then recently, this year has begun making jewelry. She plans to continue adding more to her shop. Thank goodness!

First top: thirfed // Second top: Forever 21 // Belt: thrifted // Jeans: thrifted // Sperrys: Ross // Earrings: this shop

I hope you guys enjoy AnneMarie's creations as much as I have. If you do decide to purchase something make sure to add the Discount Code:THANKS20 to get 20% off! Seriously, you can't beat those prices.

Enjoy the weekend!

Long skirt, Short girl.

Shirt: The Loft // Scarf: Thrifted // Skirt: Thrifted // Shoes: Old Navy

I've worn this outfit almost three times and I have only had this skirt for a little over a week. I can't stay away from it! My only problem is that I think I might look like I'm drowning in it, is this true? It is so comfy and airy and perfect for summer. and fall. maybe winter. and definitely spring. It seems like you'll be seeing a lot of this skirt from here on out! These shoes are seriously probably 8 or 9 years old, and have yet to go out of style. They're great kick arounds for summer!

p.s. that pseudo modeling face you're seeing in that first picture, don't be too impressed, it's actually me giving my husband the "really? did you just say that?" look in response to him teasing me, as he laughs at my expense and snaps some photos. I'm just living the dream.

Rox and Sam Vintage

I am so excited to let you guys in on one of my current favorite discoveries!
offers a collection of hand-picked vintage clothing
that even the most self-controlled shopper couldn't resist.

Scarf: Thrifted // Dress: c/o Rox & Sam Vintage // Shoes: thrifted // Belt: thrifted

It was love at first sight with this dress, and I fell even harder once I saw it in person. Perfectly cared for. Perfectly priced. Perfectly 80's. What more could a girl ask for?

But that's enough about me, let's hear from this lovely couple!

Rox and Sam Vintage is a husband and wife team with a passion for collecting--which is a nice way to say that we are hoarders. We would be embarrassed to show you how many shoes we have between us. It's just so hard to walk away from a good find, you know? So, we decided to open up this little shop on Etsy to support our hoarding habits. It's great knowing that we never have to leave things behind, even if they don't fit. We can bring them home, give 'em a good shine, and let somebody else find them. We love a good hunt. And, we love the idea of giving our customers that same sense of discovery.

We personally curate our collection of wearable vintage clothing for men, women, and children in the hopes that you will find something you love. We select each piece with an attention to detail, and a desire to provide an eclectic mix of beautiful things for your perusal. We are based out of the Beehive State, but we always find excuses to travel all over the country to find new items for the shop. We do what we love, and it feels just great. If we can harbor a good find for you, just long enough for you to discover it for yourself, then we are happy.

Rox and Sam Vintage is offering a Give away for $50 of credit in their shop.
The give away will close Friday, the twelfth of August.
Like their facebook page, as they will pick a random fan from there as the winner. You will find it if you click,

Also, If you'd like to keep up with Rox and Sam Vintage, check out their blog,
They have a great feature called "How she wore it" or "How he wore it" --a perfect place to look for inspiration on how to pull off those trickier vintage ensembles!

Aren't they a darling couple?! We sure think so.

We just adore all of you readers,

Polka Dot Blazer

Blazer: Flea Market // Shirt: H&M // Shorts: Nordstrom Rack // Shoes: Flea Market

When I first spotted this blazer at the Fremont Flea Market I fell in love with it! But then I questioned if I could pull it off... it's a pretty loud pattern. However the fact that nobody else would have it convinced me to buy it. I still haven't worn it out in public though, I have a feeling people just wouldnt get it.

What do you guys think...Is this blazer a little too crazy for me?

Feeling Nautical

Sweater: Thrifted // Shorts: Hand-me-down // Belt: H&M // Shoes: Forever 21

Ahoy there! Whenever I put on blue and white stripes I think nautical. I found this awesome, oversized (probably a man's) sweater at a thrift store nearby. It was a turtle neck sweater when I bought it but I wasn't feeling that... so I decided to cut it off and make it a crew neck. I paired it with bright pink shorts that I got as a hand-me-down from my sister when I was in junior high. I love the contrast between the two pieces. This outfit makes me feel a little bit like DJ Tanner but I love it nonetheless.

Thrifted: Floral Top

This shirt was a thrift store find, and I love almost everything about it, except how it fits. I decided to take it in, in the back and add a cute antique button I've had laying around.

Here's how it turned out:

Shoes: Nordstrom's Rack // Shirt: Thrifted // Pants: Macy's

This outfit is perfect for summer or fall. I love it as a date night option. The heels give it a sexy little flair.

Thrifted: Love Letter Shirt

Shirt: Thrifted // Belt: H&M // Jeans: Pacsun // Shoes: Payless // Ring: Flea Market

I have a thing for flowy blouses. I found this one at a thrift store ten minutes from my house for $5 and it's 100% silk! I'm sure people walked by it thinking "if it weren't for the tacky 80's print maybe I'd buy this". But that's what I LOVE about this blouse. I've honestly never seen anything like it. That's the goal when shopping, Ladies. (Or at least mine). Go get yourself a crazy printed shirt and sport it!

Thrifted: Red Dress

Dress: Thrifted // Shoes: Ross // Belt: TJ Maxx

Here's a little secret: without that belt, this dress slightly resembles a muumuu, and by slightly, I mean really.
Thrifted dresses are the best, and sometimes the only way to go on a tight budget, and oftentimes with these finds a little bit of accessorizing can go a long way.
