I am saying "why not?" to backpacks lately. Only cute ones like this though. I've never been a backpack person, but why not? I don't think I'm prepared to wear one to the mall (then you look like one of those post-school mall rats, no thanks). So instead of a tote I could wear a backpack while traveling, going to the beach, camping, etc. It can be a really cute accessory! So why not backpacks?

Peachy Breeze by Sally Hansen has been my favorite color to wear this season! It's especially cute when paired with a gold glittery polish to go over. This color is fun and flirty.

Bow belts! I just bought one this past weekend at a vintage thrift shop in Seattle. It adds a little bit of fun to any outfit.

#1 Summer get aways with Johnny, now that finals are all finished we will be able to enjoy some more of these oh so special evenings together. We love getting away...even if its only 20 minutes from our house, to feel like we're on a big adventure. 

#2 Orange clothing, most shades of orange I try to stay away from--especially if we're talking about skin tone here--but THIS orange that is showing up everywhere, makes me so happy and so excited to go find myself some bright items!

#3 Button Rings, my sister-in-law makes these beautiful urban victorian rings with antique buttons, and let me tell you, they are absolutely stunning. I've been wearing mine for the past two weeks non-stop. This company makes all sorts of other jewelry items that are equally great. If I could, I'd fill my entire jewelry collection with this stores stuff. Really incredible and unique pieces, check it out, you will be happy you did.

What Carissa is Loving: Wedding Edition!

Before I gush on gorgeous wedding stuff, you all must know that I am OBSESSED with all things wedding. I am knee deep in planning my own (85 days to go!) so I am constantly researching and shopping. So here are a couple things I love..

I posted this on my blog the other day because I was so excited that I picked out a garter! (If you've ever planned a wedding then you know how the littlest things you accomplish can be a weight off your shoulders...or is it just me?) I found this gorgeous garter and had to have it! I bought it from RomanticRona on etsy. 

I saw this Vera Wang from the White collection at David's Bridal in a magazine and swooned a bit. Though my girls aren't wearing dresses like this or for that price, I still think it's amazing!

Saw this wedding nail look on one of my favorite blogs ever, A Beautiful Mess. She painted her own nails on her wedding day and I think they're adorable. I love the glitter ring finger nail!

OPI You Don't Know Jacques nail polish

 It is a nice slate color, and I have fallen in love with it. This week I feel like I have been pretending that it is fall, and I can assure you I will be wearing this color for most if not for all of fall. 

Very Cherry Maybelline Lipstick

As you could already tell, I have a little obsession with this stuff. I feel like red lipstick spices up any outfit, especially if you go light on the eye make up, it can make everything pop a bit more! I love pairing this with well....anything. 

Catwalk "Curls Rock" hair amplifier

My hair is naturally very curly, and I love wearing it curly...in fact, I think it looks best curly. However, with any other product, my hair is totally unpredictable and I very quickly start looking less sleek and more like Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus. If you have curly hair I cannot recommend this stuff enough! The trick is to put it into your hair when it is VERY damp, that way the product really mixes into your hair. If needed, use a diffuser to add some body. 

La Vie Petite Awning Skirt

Nautical, perfect for summer or fall. I can't resist stripes..it's becoming a problem.

TOMS shoes are perfect for summer. They're easy to slip on, so comfy, and match with practically anything. Plus, for every pair you buy, a pair is donated to a child in need. You just can't beat the feel goods with these babies.
