Dress: Thrifted // Shoes: Nordstrom Rack
Okay so let me start by saying I was talked into buying this dress. I liked it when I tried it on but honestly didn't think I would wear it anywhere...and I haven't. It would look so much cuter with a pair of wedges. I personally think it's a cute dress but I'm afraid that nobody else will get it. Like maybe it looks like a costume? Does this dress look silly? If I don't wear it soon I feel as if I never will. If you guys say it's too out there then I'm probably going to trash it. Or maybe I could make something else out of it... The fate of this dress is in your hands!
Share your dose of lovely: Keep the dress or trash it?
I love it... could you pair it with a cropped denim jacket, maybe... to make it feel less 'costumy' ?
ReplyDeleteI think it looks cute as it is, though! Great find!
I like it, but I can see your hesitation to wear it. What if you turned it into just the skirt? Or cut off the sleeves to make it feel more summer-y and less costume-y?
ReplyDeleteThere are so many good elements to the dress that it's hard to say "trash it."

I personally love it as is and would steal it from your dumpster if you trashed it
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it would be hard for me to throw this dress out when it has so much potential! I'm seriously considering cutting the sleeves off. That way it could be worn easily with a sweater!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love shoes! You are so pretty. :3
ReplyDelete(Blogger ate my first comment...I think. If this is a dupe, that's why.)
ReplyDeleteI love the cowboy boots, you could also add some other "tougher" accessories like a leather belt, chunky necklace, and a denim jacket or blazer.
I think wearing a solid-color cardigan is also brilliant to tone down the floral print a bit.
Bottom line: keep the dress. It's too much fun to toss.

I think it's really great, and I love the pattern. I agree it might look better with some wedges, because boots add to the whole costume-y look. If you are handy with a sewing machine, I would suggest taking off the rick-rack, as well as unstitching the puff sleeves and hemming them straight across for a more modern cap sleeve. Give it a chance!
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern on the dress. Definately keep it but maybe cut the sleeves off. That might make it feel les costumy.

I think you look darling in it!
ReplyDeleteCut off the sleeves and belt the waist.....so anthropologie!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore it but I don't think I could bring myself to wear it. I'm pretty self concious about things like that. If you can brave up though I think you will get tons of compliments. I agree that a cardi to tone down the print might just do the trick!
ReplyDeletei love this dress ♥
ReplyDeleteLovely ☺
I'm love loving that dress, and you styled it perfect!
